One of the first decisions when booking in San Jose del Cabo is where to stay: downtown, or right on the beach. Both have real advantages depending on what your trip is about.
Downtown San Jose del Cabo
Downtown is where the town’s culture lives — the historic mission church on Plaza Mijares, the art district along Alvaro Obregon street, the Thursday evening Art Walk, and a dense cluster of restaurants and cafes, all walkable. It’s a great fit if you want to be in the middle of the action without needing a car.
Beachfront San Jose del Cabo
Staying beachfront means waking up to ocean views, easy beach access, and — in the case of a property like Las Mañanitas — resort amenities like pools, hot tubs, tennis and pickleball courts on-site. It’s a better fit if your trip centers around the water and you want a slower pace.
Can You Get Both?
Yes — that’s the appeal of our condo’s location. Las Mañanitas is beachfront, with resort amenities on-site, but it’s also within walking distance of downtown-style shopping, cafes, and restaurants. You get ocean views and beach access without giving up walkability.
Which Should You Choose?
- Choose downtown if nightlife, art, and restaurant-hopping are your priority.
- Choose beachfront if ocean views, pools, and a slower pace matter most.
- Choose Las Mañanitas if you don’t want to choose at all.
